Shane Dyer has played baseball as far back as he can remember. He started in his hometown of Eaton, Colorado, where he came up through the little league program and went on to win 4 high school state championships. Shane was awarded 1st Team All-State 3A Pitcher his junior season and 1st Team All-State 3A Utility Player his senior season.
The Colorado Rockies selected him in the 24th Round of the Major League Amateur Baseball Draft after his senior season, but he declined their opportunity to attend the University of New Mexico on a baseball scholarship. The following season, Dyer transferred to South Mountain Junior College in Phoenix, Arizona on a baseball scholarship. There, he completed his sophomore season and became eligible for the Major League Amateur Baseball Draft where he was again selected as a pitcher in 6th round by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Dyer is entering his 4th professional season in the minor leagues with the Tampa Bay Rays with stops at Short Season Class A, Hudson Valley Renegades, Low Class A, Bowling Green HotRods, High Class A, Port Charlotte Stone Crabs, and currently serving in Double-A, Montgomery Biscuits.
